To be well ranked in all major search engines you should avoid all hidden links, hidden text and cloaking, as these are usually forms of deception. Most search engines prefer that their spiders get the identical page that users get. In general, you can assume that most search engines are as conservative as possible. Avoid hidden links or text in divs/layers/iframes/CSS, and avoid links that are inconspicuous, as examples. Similarly, cloaking or sneaky redirects in any form, whether they be user agent/IP-based or redirects through JavaScript, meta refreshes, 302s or frames, frequently result in ranking penalties.
